Do you still need an EV charging card in 2026, or is an app enough? For some local charging, an app is enough. For stress-free public charging across different networks, I still think a card is worth carrying.
The reason is simple. Public charging is still messy in the real world. Signal can be weak, charger screens can be clunky, and sometimes tapping a card is just quicker than trying to do everything through your phone.
The case for using just an app
