Money App Reviews is my independent UK blog. I write about money apps, referral offers, EV ownership, charging, insurance and services that can save people money or make something easier. This page explains how I decide what to publish and how I keep it accurate.
What the site is trying to do
The aim is simple: answer the question that brought you to the page, explain the details that matter and help you decide whether the product or offer is useful for you.
Some articles are commercial and contain referral links. That does not mean every product gets a positive review. A recommendation still has to make sense for the reader and fit the intent of the article.
My own experience
When I say I have used an app, driven a route, charged at a location or earned a particular amount, that is based on my own experience or records. Personal figures may come from account histories, screenshots, bills, charging records or referral reports.
I do not present researched information as personal experience. If a guide is based mainly on research, I write it that way. Local knowledge and details I have learned through real use are kept when an article is updated.
How I research articles
I use a mix of:
- My own accounts, screenshots, bills and product use.
- Official product pages, help centres, terms, pricing pages and announcements.
- Search-result research to understand what people are asking and where existing answers are weak.
- Current user questions and search data to improve headings, FAQs and article structure.
- Reasonable calculations where the assumptions can be explained clearly.
Fast-changing details such as prices, referral rewards, interest rates and product features are checked again when an article is refreshed. A visible update date shows when the page was last reviewed, but providers can still change an offer without notice.
Research and editing tools
I use browser, search, research and AI-assisted editing tools to gather information, compare sources, find unclear wording and improve structure. They help with the work, but they do not supply personal experiences or make the final recommendation.
I review and edit the final page before it is published. I do not knowingly publish invented quotes, experiences, earnings or local facts. If a tool produces something that cannot be verified, it should not appear as fact.
How recommendations are decided
The points I care about most are:
- Whether the product solves the problem the reader came with.
- The real cost, reward and effort involved.
- Ease of use and reliability.
- Important restrictions or drawbacks that could change the decision.
- What I have learned through first-hand use, where available.
I do not award rankings simply because one provider pays more commission. Where I have a referral route, I may focus the article on that route, but the offer and the steps needed to receive it should still be explained accurately.
Affiliate links and commercial relationships
Some links may earn me commission or referral credit. Sometimes the reader also receives a bonus. Using a commercial link does not buy a positive opinion or remove relevant drawbacks.
Paid or sponsored content, if accepted, will be clearly labelled. Read the full Affiliate Disclosure.
SEO and reader intent
I use search research to understand the wording people use and the questions they need answered. SEO should make a useful article easier to find. It should not turn the page into repetitive copy, pad it with unrelated sections or make several pages compete for exactly the same search intent.
Updates and corrections
Older articles are reviewed for factual accuracy, readability, broken links, search intent and changes to the product. I do not rewrite a section simply to make it look new. Useful personal details and facts are kept unless they are no longer accurate.
If you spot an error, send the page URL, the wording that needs checking and any supporting detail through the Contact page. I will check the issue and correct confirmed errors as soon as reasonably possible.
Financial information
The site provides general information and personal opinion, not individual financial advice. Product eligibility, tax treatment, protection and the right choice can depend on your circumstances, so check the current provider information before acting.
